How To Treat Yellowing of leaves in Money plant

Money plant leaves gets yellow due to multiple reasons

  • The pot must have got root bound, this happens if the plant has not been repotted for a long time and the plant has grown in multiple folds
  • Over watering, this is the number one cause of yellowing of leaves
  • Under watering, if ignored watering for way too long, then this could be the reason for yellowing of leaves

  • Clogged drainage holes could cause water logging causing roots to rot eventually yellowing of leaves

Insects and pest

This is one such plant that does not get infected with pest and insects, atleast I personally haven't seen any in my lifetime.

This is the reason why this plant is a favourite and no. 1 house hold plant

Fertilizer

If you are giving it adequate amount of sunlight and follow proper watering cycle, then you don't need to bother to fertilize this plant

But if you are keeping this plant indoor under low light conditions, then you can add these fertilizers

1) Rock phosphate, an organic fertilizer in powdered form, just add 1 tsp over the potting mix in the pot directly

2) Lime stone / Chunna in hindi, is also the best, cheap and oraganic fertilizer for money plant

3) Sea weed fertilizer: You get granules as well as liquid fertilizers, just add 2-3 drops in 500 ml of water and water the plant , you can also spray this over the leaves. Granules can be scattered over the potting mix

4) Compost: You can use any compost like cow dung compost, or vermicompost or goat mannure compost as a fertilizer, just scatter  1 tsp over the potting mix

You can use any one of the fertilizers once in 15 days or once in a month, and the best time to use it is during early morning or late evening but never in the afternoon
