How To Grow Cypress Vine / Ganesh Vel / Humming bird vine

Cypress vine plant is a creeper plant that is seasonal and grow flowers which are generally bright red in colour and star shape, there are various other colours available in cypress vine like pink, white etc.

These are self seeded plants, which means in case during winter if you have noticed that the cypress vine plant is dead, don't worry, as they self seed themseleves during winter season and bounce back during summer season.

For first timers to grow cypress vine plant, one can begin with seeds, this plant won't grow from cutting as this is a seasonal vine plant.

Let's get started!

Step 1: sow the seed over the top of cocopeat and spry water gently.

Step 2: wait for 10 days and let the seeds germinate

Step 3: the true leaves are in the form of a butterfly.

Step 4: one week later few grass like leaves starts growing 

step 5: 2 weeks later the wine starts growing

Step 6: Pot these in a planter with a pole or any similar stick

Step 7: Water the plants regularly, no need to use fertilizer.

Your cypress vine has grown full fledged and ready to shoot many flowers

How to make cypress vine plant look beautiful

To make the plant look very beautiful and presentable, it is better to support it with a vine decor

Vine decor:

You can either make a vine decor or buy a vine decor online or from any nursery.

To make a vine decor at home 

option 1: Take a stick and move the plant vine around the stick

option 2: Pick an old badminton racket and place the base of the racquet in the soil and twist the vine to the racquet.

option 3: use an aluminium wire and give it a shape you like, insert one end in the soil, twist the vine around the aluminum wire .
